Blog Post: Second Chance to Host Community Job & Resource Fair on May 15
posted Tuesday, April 28, 2009 9:40 AM
On May 15 from 1:00 - 4:00 PM, Second Chance will host its annual Community Job & Resource Fair. Last year's fair attracted more than 400 guests who visited with more than 50 exhibitors. This year's fair should be even bigger and better.
For exhibitors (either employers or community service providers), we offer FREE exhibit space inside our spacious headquarters. If you are an employer or service agency, please visit www.secondchanceprogram.org to register, or email rwilliamson@secondchanceprogram.org to reserve a space today! We have approximately 5 spaces left! For guests, we will offer: * Individual resume critique sessions with human resource professionals! * "How to Get a Job in Today's Environment" workshop at 1:30 and 3:00 PM (same workshop, repeated twice). Come hear industry experts give practical tips and advice on job search strategies suited to today's difficult employment environment. Presented by employment experts Phil Blair, CEO of Manpower; Mark Cafferty, President of San Diego Workforce Partnership; and Scott Silverman, Executive Director of Second Chance. * "Top 5 Tips for Finding a Job You Love" at 2:15 PM. Marcy Morrison, author of "FINDING YOUR PASSION: The Easy Guide to Your Dream Career" and owner of Careers with Wings will present ideas for finding not just "a job" but rather "the perfect job" for you. * More than 50 employers and community resource agencies will be on hand to discuss career options and available community services. Employers include the San Diego Zoo, SeaWorld, Job Options and the City of San Diego. Resource agencies include A New Path, 211 San Diego, Legal Aid Society, San Diego Food Bank, and Jobing.com. We thank our sponsors: Union Bank of California, Wells Fargo, Jacobs Center for Neighborhood Innovation, Nordstrom, Manpower, San Diego Workforce Partnership, SP Direct Printing, West Rhodes & Roberts, Jobing.com, Job Options. Sponsorship packages are still available at www.secondchanceprogram.org. Best of all -- its FREE. Community Comments
