Casa de Amparo provides safe shelter and a continuum of prevention and treatment services to abused, neglected and at-risk infants, children and teens and their families in San Diego County.

Full time positions available Thurs - Sun 2pm - 10:30pm with Tues 10am-1pm for staff meeting/training and Mon-Wed 2pm - 10:30pm with Friday 6am - 2:30pm and the Tues meeting.


GENERAL FUNCTION: Provides for the protection, physical safety and well-being of boys and girls 6 to 18 years of age in a level 12 residential group home setting, located in Oceanside.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in residential treatment and a Bachelors degree in human science field required. Experience working with disabled or medically fragile clients a big plus.

Must possess maturity, good judgment and the ability to be a nurturing caregiver for children 6 to 18 years old. Must have the physical ability to lead and interact in group activities and perform related physical skills, including, but not limited to crouching, lifting 50 pounds, running, crawling on hands and knees, and walking up and down stairs. Must be proficient in English and have clear written and verbal communication skills, bi-lingual and bi-cultural desirable.
Ability to comply with employment requirements, including but not limited to; CPR/Pediatric 1st Aid Certification, satisfactory results of background check, health exam and TB test. Must have a clear DMV record and be approved by insurance carrier to drive agency vehicles.

MAJOR TASKS:

1.Coordinate daily activities of residents per the daily schedule; i.e. chore assignments, passes, school attendance, meals, recreation, medical appointments, visits, and court appointments.

2.Provide age appropriate positive discipline and crisis intervention.

3.Participate in milieu treatment planning and implementation.

4.Be aware of and coordinate with clinical treatment plan, i.e. exchange of information with therapists and planning residents attendance in counseling sessions.

5.Attend all required weekly staff meetings and in-service trainings as required.

6.Record daily progress notes on each resident and file in case file.

7.Supervise and direct volunteers on the Unit.

8.Transport residents to appointments using agency van

9.Perform other administrative tasks as assigned.

10. For our medically fragile clients will provide basic patient care and treatments and administer prescribed medications. Provide routine, personal healthcare such as bathing, dressing, personal hygiene, moving in/out of bed, standing and walking.


Shift times are: AM 6am-2:30pm, PM 2pm-10:30pm, Overnight 10pm-6:30am

Part time position available Sat & Sun 6am - 2:30pm
