Jobing Description
To investigate, evaluate and negotiate to conclusion third party property damage claims. Investigation and negotiation completed by telephone and correspondence within company guidelines.
Make contact with insured within 24 hours of receipt of file. Determines type of claim line to be opened, establishes reserves and completes input for opening claim file. Completes recorded statements of all parties, handles liability determination. Investigates and resolves coverage questions. Coordinates via outside appraisal services for inspection and determination of third party damages. With the team leaders approval, assigns field investigation tasks to independent adjusters, and manages the I/A-s efforts. Assesses third party comparative negotiates, evaluates, negotiates and settles assigned claims within delegated settlement authority. Send releases, checks, correspondence, proof of loss, etc. and completes appropriate reporting format in file. Maintains control of file and workflow through proper documentation and diary system. Represents the company and insured on those files where claimant attorney representation is involved. Reviews assigned claims periodically to ensure adequacy of reserves in a timely manner. Handles incoming calls and correspondences on claim file to conclusion, develops subrogation and salvage recovery issues and follows recovery procedures, routes files to appropriate unit to follow-up on recovery of subrogation or salvage dollars, acts as mentor for property damage liability examiners wanting to promote to the bodily injury liability unit, and performs other duties as assigned.
A qualified candidate should possess the following: excellent verbal, written, organizational, and people skills; Typing 30 words per minute, computer literate, attention to details, team player, self-motivated. Punctual and conscientious about work hours and make appropriate arrangements for vacation and special leave. Accepts constructive feedback and makes sincere efforts to improve. Effective listener, ability to follow and execute directions. Bilingual preferred.
