Promising Futures, Inc. is a private nonprofit organization formed in 1988 by a group of concerned parents and professionals. Our mission is to develop quality programs and services for individuals severely handicapped by autism and related disorders. We commit ourselves to programs that provide a quality alternative for our clients and their families.
Residential Services We operate group homes that provide specialized care and services for up to six individuals in each home who cannot survive in a less structured setting. Through our residential services we have the opportunity to make a significant impact on language growth, development of self-care skills and reduction of behaviors. Families continue to be involved with their children into their adult life through monthly gatherings and an open door policy. Personalized programs are developed for each resident to teach functional communication skills often associated with autism. Other treatment goals teach independent living, self care, cognitive and social/emotional skills. Each individual receives support that is measured and faded to promote the residents full potential. Our homes provide age appropriate, active community-based activities throughout the week. Residents understand that these fun outings are part of their day and do not have to be “earned”.
The Center for Independent Achievement allows us to ensure active treatment and meaningful experiences for individuals throughout their programming. The facility includes a full kitchen, garden, physical fitness and education room, leisure skill development room and computer lab. Each individuals program is designed to meet their specific needs and desires. Individuals are matched with specific activities that correspond to their skill level and interests. The Center for Independent Achievement secures and promotes significant work experiences under the guidance of a job coach who, if necessary facilitates training towards independence.Social Services - Program Manager Lakeside, $10.00 to $11.00/hour Social Services - Residential Program Instructors Lakeside, Ramona, $9.00 to $10.00/hour Contact Us
