Profile: National Association of Asian American Professionals, San Diego Chapter

We were originally founded as San Diego Asian Professionals (SDAP) in January of 2006 when a group of young Asian Professionals came together for a social event. Each participant discovered that they were among other unique and talented individuals. During the course of the evening, they realized they had a common dream– to form an organized group dedicated to building a community of young API professionals in San Diego County.

They realized that with TEAMwork, commitment, and perseverance, they could make their dream a reality. Ultimately, the following eight founders, Ben Guillermo, Timothy Ton, Christine Timbol, Karen Chan, Jeffrey Obayashi, Mark Buenaventura, Michael Nguyen and Tony Marquez formed an alliance and decided to create SDAP.

SDAP is the first organized group of its kind for young Asian Professionals in San Diego. We are proud and honored to serve and make a positive, lasting difference in the API community.

Now as NAAAP San Diego, we continually strive towards our vision of building leaders that will lead the new generation of Professionals.  As a Nationally recognized organization, we have the support of a large collective of Chapters and Ventures Nationwide that share our passion and vigor.  With our venture we strive to provide our members a more professionally charged organization that will help each of us to hone our skills and develop new skillsets to aid in our productive careers.  As we continually sharpen our own organizational saw, we would like to invite each and everyone to join us in our professional development events, business networking mixers, and empowered speaker series.   Be sure to look for us on Facebook and Myspace, and see you at our Events
