Company History

The mortgage and foreclosure industry has changed substantially over the past several years and Prommis has proactively adapted its business model to these changes. The Company’s two founders began their careers in law, focusing on the real estate and bankruptcy industries at McCalla Raymer, LLC. (“MR Law”). In 1992, they recognized the opportunity offered by the non-legal services of foreclosure and bankruptcy processing and began devoting significant time, capital and expertise in building the foreclosure and bankruptcy processing business. Over the next decade, the Company’s predecessor invested in building a proprietary technology platform to increase processing efficiency and expanded its services offerings. Referral volume dramatically increased in 2000, when the Company’s predecessor began leveraging its technology platform; enabling it to handle substantially more volume and increase its value proposition to Mortgage Servicers. 

By 2006, the outsourcing division of MR Law was operating and there was a significant opportunity to leverage the platform and capabilities and expand the customer base to work directly with additional Mortgage Servicers and Law Firms. At this time, MR Law carved out the division, and it was acquired by Great Hill and the management team. The Company’s strategy was to build on its leading market position in Georgia foreclosures and national bankruptcy presence by expanding into additional states. 

In February 2007, the Company acquired the back-office operations of two law firms with a multi-state Southeastern footprint. Additionally, in November 2007, the Company acquired the operations of a multi-state bankruptcy law firm and a trustee company, both headquartered in San Diego, California.
