ABOUT US

The San Diego Workforce Partnership, Inc. (Workforce Partnership) has been in operation since 1974, when a joint powers agreement between the City and the County of San Diego created what is now a nonprofit public benefit corporation.

The Workforce Partnership has long created workforce solutions for the region’s employers and individuals through public and private partnerships. We provide cost-effective, quality programs and services that promote self-sufficiency and address the current and long-term needs of the region’s employers. This is largely accomplished through the Workforce Partnership’s regional network of One-Stop Career Centers and its targeted adult and youth employment and training programs. These resources provide job seekers and employers with universal access to labor market information and comprehensive employment resources.

San Diego One-Stop Career Center Network
Our primary goal is to advance the skills of the region’s workforce through workforce solutions using public and private partnerships.  The career centers are where the rubber meets the road for delivering the services at a single point of contact for our customers. The centers serve different types of customers: job seekers, including adults, youth, individuals with disabilities, war veterans, and those in the military, looking for employment; businesses looking to fill positions; community based organizations seeking to place their social service clients into gainful employment; community colleges and training providers looking for students; and local governments seeking new avenues for economic development and community vitality. 

San Diego Youth Programs 
The Workforce Partnership oversees programs that help at-risk youth, ages 14 to 21, plan and achieve their educational goals and secure employment via a network of community-based youth service providers. These programs assist eligible San Diego County youth who have dropped out of high school, are at risk of dropping out, or are transitioning from justice system camps and foster care facilities. All youth who qualify receive: Educational Services, Work Readiness Training, Work Preparation and Work-Based Opportunities, Youth Development Services.

Labor Market Information
As part of the Workforce Partnership’s commitment to help our communities make informed decisions on careers, training strategies, hiring requirements, and wage and benefit packages, we invest a lot of time and resources in studying and analyzing our local economy. These important findings, trends and labor market needs are highlighted in studies, community forums and on websites.
