San Diego Kids Health Assurance Network (SD-KHAN) provides information and referral service to help you find the best quality medical and dental insurance coverage for your children
Your children may qualify for no cost or low cost health insurance even if you work, own a house, or have a two-person income.
Eligibility depends upon family size and annual income (Example: A family of 4 can earn up to $55,128 and qualify).
These quality health programs include: Healthy Families and Medi-Cal.

The Child Health and Disability Prevention (CHDP)Program prevents and identifies health problems through periodic, no-cost well-child health exams to help children who qualify, grow up healthy.
The CHDP Gateway links eligible children to ongoing healthcare coverage.
Services
CHDP exams are available at certain ages.
CHDP exams consist of:
Complete physical exam
Dental assessment
Nutritional evaluation
Developmental assessment
Review of health history
Height, weight and blood pressure measurements
Vision and hearing tests
Tests for anemia, blood lead poisoning and tuberculosis
Immunizations
Health Education

Children and youth must live in California and meet one of the following requirements:
