A WELCOME MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
 
On behalf of the faculty and staff, I welcome you to the NewSchool of Architecture and Design. We pride ourselves on developing men and women for responsible citizenship and careers in Architecture, and we look forward to the prospect of you joining us.

I encourage you to explore our academic degree offerings, the quality of our instructional programs and the emphasis we place on a "hands-on," practical experience throughout our programs. We maintain very close relationships with the professional architectural community to be sure that your education is balanced with classroom work, design studios, and the latest innovations and techniques in practice.

The faculty is committed to providing students with an effective instructional program. They carry out this commitment by excellent teaching, challenging every student to develop their skills and abilities, and to supporting their growth as individuals and professionals.

San Diego is a vibrant community, and the School's location in the heart of downtown links it closely with the growth of the area. It also serves as a laboratory for our professional work and enables students to work on projects of regional significance.

NewSchool offers many opportunities for student participation in lectures, student clubs and being part of a dynamic learning community. We host the renowned Academy of Neuroscience for Architecture. Our staff and faculty stand ready to help you get the most out of your time here.
