Profile: Simona Cherlin, Career Consulting and Job Search Coaching

 
Career change is now a fact of life.  Simona Cherlin leads the way in providing personal assistance for individuals and groups in transition.  She is a trainer, counselor and coach in the areas of career development and job search.  She has been known for her compassionate and straightforward approach, and has worked with hundreds of clients over the past 25 years. Her clients have included professionals from a wide variety of industries as well as recent college graduates and those planning for their own retirement. 

Simona has been a transition coach and trainer for outplacement companies like Right Associates and Drake Beam Morin.  In addition, she worked as an internal career development counselor for over 17,000 County of San Diego employees, and most recently, with Kaiser Permanente employees. 

Simona specializes in career and job search strategy and helps individuals to utilize all of the tools and resources available to them.  She also offers a variety of career workshops for employees of UCSD, including Career Aspirations Clarification, Networking, Interviewing, and Retirement Planning, just to name a few.

Privately, she is offering ongoing meetings of THE JOB CLUB, a support group for professionals offered to increase  contacts, share resources and job leads with one another, and learn proven strategies to finding employment. 

There is no membership required, and takes place the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month.

Simona's background also includes directing a job search center for military members and their families, being the in-house career counselor for over 17,000 public service employees, and operating as an executive coach for effective leadership and career development. 

Her professional participation has included Organizational Development Network, SHRM, American Society for Training and Development, and Professional Coaches and Mentors Association. In addition, Simona works with managers and executives at the Center for Creative Leadership in dealing more effectively with their career progression and how to avoid career-limiting behaviors.
