Jobing Description
Assist in the design transfer of new products and or the enhancement of existing products as a team member in Operations. Developing the processes for Manufacturing, Quality Control, Regulatory and Planning for the particular project. Create and coordinate the implementation of new or improved manufacturing processes. Assist in various engineering assignments ranging from feasibility studies to introducing processes to Manufacturing. This position is responsible for establishing Lean processes in the manufacturing and material operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develops new manufacturing processes and/or serves as a key member of a project team.
• Improve current processes and products for quality and cost.
• Provide operations and manufacturing expertise for new projects from concept through production.
• Interface with production of all activities associated with new process or product implementation and transfers.
• Evaluate proposed designs and processes for manufacturability and demonstrate value engineering concepts.
• Establish robust, repeatable and reproducible process parameters.
• Apply engineering knowledge and experience to application and development of new product designs and/ or processes to exceed customer expectations.
• Provide continuous development that will improve in house capabilities, yields and efficiency.
• Develops improvements to tooling and processes for the manufacture of existing products
• Assists in establishing specifications and procedures under which the new products will be made
• Identifies and implements cost reduction opportunities
• Reviews tools and perishable machine parts drawings for the necessity of revision on tolerances, surface finishes, dimensions, and material selection
• Investigates and troubleshoots production difficulties and processing issues and process improvements

Skills / Requirements
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of manufacturing systems, Bills of materials, Bills of operations and standard times.
• Demonstrated experience in the validation of manufacturing processes.
• Design experience for tooling, fixtures and assembly aides. Experience with 3D CAD system, preferably Solidworks.
• Ability to specify, select, and qualify equipment for production use, estimating the return on investment, capacity and quality requirements to achieve business goals.
• Understanding of design for manufacturability and application to the development of specifications for new products
• Working knowledge of mechanical drawings, including GDT, as well as inspection methods and tools.
• Experience in medical device manufacturing, applying capital equipment in the fabrication processes
• Experience in high volume machining (Swiss screw machining and Multi-Axis milling) a plus.
• Must be detail oriented, an effective communicator, and able to work within a team environment
• Able to self manage time in support of project objectives, milestones and final completion dates.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to proactively develop and drive initiatives.
• Ideal candidate will provide professional engineering methodologies and apply them hands-on to the process development process.
• Additional general engineering experience in manufacturing processes, tooling, and project management is desired.
• Ability to communicate and demonstrate technical experience with internal and external customers and executive management.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Minimum Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or university in Mechanical, Biomedical, or Manufacturing Engineering. Minimum of 3-5 years experience. Must have a minimum of 1 year in medical device environment.
