Jobing Description
The Counselor is directly responsible to the Mental Health Coordinator. This position provides individual, family and group counseling as well as case management services to elementary age youth in 2 elementary schools. Supervise and manage a caseload. Provide case management, counseling and group services to children and families. Works directly with families, teachers, school psychologists, and coordinator to assess and address student and family needs. Coordinates the work of outside agencies responsible for providing CARES interventions. Makes student/family referrals as appropriate. Coordinates with CARES team coordinator in identifying and monitoring student participation in identified CARES activities. Utilizes evidence-based practices to provide therapy to students and families. Monitors collection of formative and summative evaluation data. Participates in relevant school (CARES, parent) meetings. Supports the integration of Opening Doors program across entire school. Communicates regularly with teachers and families regarding student progress. Provide psycho-social assessment services to youth and families.
Skills / Requirements
Masters degree in Social Work, Counseling or related field. Must be registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. Bilingual English/Spanish.
