Job: Job Developers

Home Start, a leader in providing family strengthening services in San Diego County for over 35 years is seeking experienced Job Developers for the ARRA Program (American Recovery and Reinvestment Act). Under the direction of the Program Coordinator, the Job Developer is responsible for building relationships in the community with businesses, employment agencies, career centers, educators, and training facilities.

Responsibilities include:

„«Networking and developing relationships in the community
„«Maintaining and expanding visibility of the program¡¦s services
„«Seeking training and employment opportunities for clients
„«Maintaining data on labor markets and employment trends
„«Negotiate employment opportunities
„«Monitoring job placements to insure employment needs are met
„«Ensuring accurate and timely collection and reporting of data in accordance with contract compliance
„«Maintaining files, documentation and statistics as required by contract
„«Participating in meetings or community activities as appropriate.

Bachelors or equivalent in social services or related human services field and experience working with low income families required. Bilingual preferred. Strong organizational and effective communication skills are essential to the position. Must be computer literate, a team player and culturally sensitive to the community.
