Job: Activities Coordinator

Under the direction and supervision of the Day Center Supervisor, the Recreational Coordinator will assess the needs, interests and capabilities of participants and develop individualized therapeutic recreation plans. In addition you would plan, organize and direct participates in a comprehensive therapeutic recreation program tailored to the general and individualized needs and limitations of frail elderly program participants.

You must have 2 years experience working in social or recreational program for the frail or elderly population within the last 5 years. You must have working knowledge of recreational therapy techniques and practices of the elderly including assessment, care plan development, and monitoring. You will be able to demonstrate creative abilities to plan develop and implement varied activities to meet diversified needs. You must have good working knowledge of dementia disease and familiarity with illnesses common to our frail older population.
Education in Recreational Therapy, Art Therapy, Music Therapy, Dance Therapy, Activity Director preferred. Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and qualified Social Workers also encouraged to apply.
