Job: Network Operations Specialist-Level 1

This is an entry-level, Network Operations Center position. This position requires occasional overnight (11:30pm-7:30am) shifts.

The ideal candidate will have between 1-2 years of Information Technology/Networking experience and a strong customer service background.

SUMMARY
· Provides LAN/WAN network and facilities support by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Monitors and maintains network stability
· Provide telephone technical support
· Performs network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose network problems
· Responds to client inquiries concerning system operation
· Provide clients with network technical support
· Assist clients with setup and minor maintenance of equipment

Understanding of popular operating systems-including but not limited to:
· Windows 2000/NT
· Macintosh
· UNIX
· Linux
· DOS
· Proficient in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting one or more of the above
operating systems
· Thorough understanding of LAN architectures, cabling systems, OSI model, TCP/IP
addresses, Ethernet.
· Understanding of Microsoft Office, FTP clients and Web browsers
· Use of ping, traceroute and nslookup/dig commands
· Some experience working with databases
· Previous experience in front-line service oriented positions
· Previous telephone technical support experience desirable
· 2-year technical degree or equivalent education or experience
