Hours: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
JOB SUMMARY:

The IS Management Engineer builds partnerships with operational leaders and teams across the organization to improve processes throughout the organization. Provides training in process improvement concepts and techniques, performance measurement concepts and techniques, facilitates teams, coaches facilitators and team leaders, consults with departments, assists in the problem-solving/improvement team process, and evaluates results to ensure data-driven sustainable improvements in clinical and business operations. The IS Management Engineer works in close collaboration with all IS department directors and organizational management to align the incorporation of process improvement activities with new initiatives and projects.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Industrial engineer with an emphasis on health systems analysis, bachelor-s degree in a related field or Process Management certification. Relevant experience in excess of three (3) years may be substituted

3 to 5 years experience in process improvement (process analysis, design and redesign) and overall performance measurement (methods analysis, work sampling, statistical analysis, and financial analysis) systems.

Experience in complex clinical, teaching and research environments a plus

Knowledge of health care patient administration, knowledge in fundamentals of hospital organization, management techniques, JCAHO, HIPAA and Title 22 requirements are required.

Strong knowledge of Information systems, including office automation and data analysis tools such as MS Office, Crystal Reports, etc.

Up-to-date knowledge of trends and advances in quality, process improvement, and technology tools and methodology, creates and utilizes re-usable tools.

Understands process business case, feasibility studies, risk analysis and assessment, quality and metrics applicable to process management and procedures required. TQM or other recognized total quality management methodology required

Must be able to manage large, complex processes that span multiple departments and resources in a matrixed environment, with ability to facilitate the timely resolution of issues across organizational boundaries

Ability to organize and facilitate meetings for quality improvement in hospital operations and established systems for quality control


Adheres to benchmarks to nationally-recognized health care process improvement initiatives

Ability to plan, coordinate and monitor the implementation of recommendations developed through operational and financial analyses in collaboration with internal and external customers, management and team members on process management techniques and tools, development of processes, procedures, roles and responsibilities

Demonstrated policy/procedure writing, regulation interpretation, organization planning, education program development, facilitation, communication, experience in detailed workflow designs, processes, procedures, and written reports is essential

Ability to communicate clearly and make oral presentations to a broad spectrum of individual and groups, including senior management and to prepare concise recommendations including alternatives

Capable of maintaining confidential information

Demonstrated facilitation skills in a team setting.

Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interact with people at all levels of the organization

Effective verbal and written communications skills

Critical thinking and analytical skills, Computer literacy

Proficient Skills in using Microsoft Office, Project, and Visio

Must be able to work under pressure, following a plan and balancing competing requests by priority

High level of integrity and trust


Skills / Requirements
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Advanced degree preferred.

Prefer experience in a supervisory capacity and the ability to direct and develop others

Prefer Implementation experience with previous integrated Healthcare Information systems with emphasis on Clinical and Financial, EMR applications/systems (Epic, Meditech, Cerner, etc)

Programming skills a plus.

ITIL Training, PM training or Certification a plus

Adheres to and utilizes structured Project management methodology and tools.
