Department: Surgery (Operating Room)
Schedule: Full time - Benefits Eligible Shift: Evenings Hours: 11:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. JOB SUMMARY: Reporting to either Unit Director or RN, Admin T/L, this position is assigned managerial and clinical responsibilities of the nursing unit/department and staff related to the coordination and operation of the department/unit. Team member whose responsibilities include leading, managing, and influencing the daily operational activities associated with the assigned team. Supports the overall business plan by monitoring team performance and outcomes relative to established goals/ measurements. Possesses an advanced level of clinical nursing practice achieved through planned individualized programs for increasing knowledge, skills, professionalism, and clinical nursing judgment. Functions as a role model at the expert level of practice characterized by viewing situations as a whole, advanced clinical skills, teaching/mentoring of peers, acquisition of nursing knowledge, demonstration of leadership ability, and professional contributions to teams/units. Exhibits a comprehensive intuitive grasp of clinical situations and is able to mobilize needed resources to achieve patient outcomes. Innovations and initiatives impact standards of care in the department and across the organization. Requires a commitment to patient/family, development of self/other, acquisition of advanced skills and knowledge and fulfillment of unit and institutional goals. Responsible for independently applying the nursing process through the assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and documentation of pediatric patient care. Selects and administers the appropriate care taking into consideration the age and developmental level and size of the patient. Provides a caring relationship that facilitates health and healing. Able to identify limitations of self and/or other clinical staff and seek and mobilize resources as needed. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing Must be a team member on the department/unit for which candidate is applying or prior Team Leader on alternate department(s)/unit(s) 3 years of pediatric professional nursing experience Current California licensure as a Registered Nurse Current CPR certification Skills / Requirements
