As an HR Generalist and Business Partner, you will be responsible for providing oversight and support to multiple locations and offices throughout Texas, California, and Louisiana. General responsibilities of this role include: * Provide leadership in the region’s approach to recruitment and workforce planning with a focus on the most creative and cost-effective ways of generating high-quality candidates in the marketplace * Work with Hiring Managers and Recruiters to recruit, assess and select the most qualified candidates while increasing diversity. * Manage plans and processes for turnover tracking, needs assessment, staffing, recruiting, selection, and performance planning within the region. * Conduct recruiting and interviews as required. Facilitate hiring decisions. * Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements. * Execute strategy for Corporate HR initiatives and tailor delivery to division offices, managing efficient rollout. * Provide day-to-day tactical HR leadership and counsel to management in the area of employment law and labor relations. * Provide guidance and support to employees in all areas of human resource administration including benefits, recruiting, and payroll ensuring administrative tasks are completed within deadlines. * Develop and implement metrics and solutions for monitoring employee relations trends. * Provide labor relations support in unionized locations. Participate in grievance meetings and contract interpretations. * Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department, division/region and services performed. * Identify and constructively challenge policies and practices that produce legal, regulatory and/or ethical risks to the business or employees. Facilitate the discussion, planning and implementation of actions to mitigate potential risks. * Maintain and expand knowledge and understanding of existing and proposed federal and state laws/regulations affecting human resources management; identify trends and new developments that could impact organizational objectives and/or operational resources * Participate and respond to employee relation issues such as unemployment matters, employee complaints, harassment allegations and EEOC charges. * Understand the business and competitive market; generate insights that will drive the business strategy and translate them into HR solutions within the region/division. * Provide courteous and professional customer service through answering phone inquiries, providing information, and resolving employee questions and concerns. * Partner with Operations leadership in identifying and effectively addressing the HR implications of changes that occur within the business. * Conduct/coordinate training programs for employees and supervisors, including but not limited to sexual harassment awareness, customer service, performance management, and new hire orientation. * Execute HR Generalist duties such as benefits and workers compensation administration, employee relations and investigations, recruiting, and training. * Plan, execute, direct and complete projects as required Skills / Requirements
* BA/BS degree in Business or related field
* Minimum of 4 years experience in a senior exempt HR role leading a region or division of 500+ employees with multi-state responsibilities. * Demonstrated expertise in all HR functional areas with a strong emphasis in employee relations. * Proven knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements in functional area(s). * Demonstrated experience in the areas of: employment law, labor relations, staffing, assessment and selection, training and development, continuous process improvement; implementing policies and procedures. * Knowledge of CA, TX, and LA employment law preferred. * Experience working in a unionized and non-unionized environment * Experience managing employee relation issues through investigation to resolution. * Possess attention to detail, logic, and a methodological approach to problem solving. Understands the underlying issues and components of a problem or opportunity and perceives complex cause-and-effect patterns. Identifies patterns and trends from past experiences that relate to a current situation and uses that knowledge to come up with creative solutions and new ideas. * Superior communication skills, written and verbal, able to effectively address all levels within the organization. * Ability to operate independently * Ability to create advanced Excel spreadsheets and formulas.
