Job: Mechanic -Tire Retail and Auto Service

Evans Tire & Service Centers is a family-owned business with 16 locations throughout San Diego County.

Responsibilities and Duties:
-Exceed Evans Tire's performance standards for mechanical service
-Ensure paperwork is complete and accurate prior to installation of a product on any vehicle
-Attend ongoing training on safety and new products
-Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair malfunctions on automotive vehicles and related equipment, including but not limited to: brakes, shocks, steering and suspension, tire balancing, proper front end alignment
-Perform regularly scheduled and preventive maintenance on automotive vehicles to include but not limited to: changing oil, filters, and lubricants; checking condition of belts, tires, shocks in accordance with service manuals
-Estimate cost and time to determine the most cost effective methods of repair
-Road test vehicles to assist in diagnosis and troubleshooting; confirm repairs
-Provide proper care, service and maintenance of equipment, tools, and merchandise
-Ensure shop area is clean, organized, and safe
-Additional duties as assigned

This job has some supervisory responsibilities.

1. You have a valid CA driver's license.
2. Must be able to perform computerized alignments and be proficient in brake repair and diagnostics.
3. Must be able to perform scheduled vehicle maintenances (oil changes, belts, flushes, fluid exchanges).
4. Have experience in replacement of shocks/struts.

Skills required include:
Strong work ethic, enthusiasm and positive attitude, ability to read and interpret documents, ability to communicate effectively, professionalism, excellent customer service record. Goal oriented with the ability to meet productivity objectives. Basic computer skills helpful. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Previous experience as a skilled mechanic is required to be considered for this position.

Must be able to work a flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Candidate must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
