Jobing Description
Schedules appointments for patients by telephone or in person. Registers patients for medical appointments by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Schedules appointments and enters appointment date and time into computerized scheduler or appointment book
  • Records when appointments have been filled or cancelled
  • Telephone or writes patients, salespeople and visitors
  • Answers telephone and either responds to inquiry, directs caller to appropriate personnel or initiates triage slip for response by medical personnel
  • Assists with other medical office needs including registering patients and receiving payments for services provides
  • Greets and directs patients, salespeople and visitors
  • Generates a list of schedule appointments for the office each day
  • Pulls patient charts prior to or upon arrival of patient for appointment
  • Verifies patient's appointment and time upon registration
  • Conducts reminder calls to all patients
  • Verifies patient's record is up to date and accurate. Makes appropriate changes in computer system and on patient's chart
  • Generates personalized service form for registered patients in order to document services provided and procedures performed at visit
  • Assists with other medical office needs, including scheduling, telephone inquiries and cashier
  • Telephones or writes clients to remind them of appointments
  • Receives payments for services and records them in computer or ledger
  • Organizes and maintains a filing system for patient charts, including generating chart numbers, filing and pulling charts

  • Skills / Requirements
    Skills: Computer skills including familiarity with spreadsheets and databases, Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, strong communication and organizational skills, ability to interact effectively with clinic personnel, patients and diverse population. Excellent customer service skills.

    Education: High School diploma/ GED

    Experience: Previous experience in health related field preferred

    Important Notes
    Full time (40 hours per week) position.
    Must be bilingual (English/Spanish).
