Planned Parenthood of San Diego & Riverside Counties is seeking a Youth Development Educator for the STAR program in San Diego County.

The Youth Development Educator will assist in the development and implementation of programs targeting middle school youth. They will also provide sexuality education for Community Education programs and reproductive health information to the San Diego community. The educator will promote the goals of Planned Parenthood programs and services. Essential Functions: Educator Duties: * Assist in program planning and developing long term vision for Youth Development and Community Education programs. * Deliver comprehensive sexuality education to youth in classroom settings. * Provide comprehensive sexuality education and training presentations to parents of youth development programs. * Coordinate and follow through with learning fieldtrips. Resolve problems that arise during learning fieldtrips. * Provide transportation to and from youth development program activities and outings. * Serve as role-model and mentor to participants in the Youth Development Program (YDP). * Ensure safety for YDP participants during program activities and outings. * Design and implement new sexuality education and training programs to staff and volunteers as requested. * Assist in curriculum development and evaluation with Youth Development Manager and Community Education Manager. * Coordinate focus groups for youth development programs as needed. * Assist in the training of new educators. Outreach Duties: * Develop and maintain community contacts relating to the promotion of the program. * Participate in community or school based committees. * Network with community contacts to maintain community involvement. * Seek donations for fieldtrips, equipment, incentives, etc. * Solicit youth to participate in youth development programs. * Assist in the recruitment of adults for program facilitators, volunteers, and role-models. * Keep in contact with parents of youth development program participants regarding progress and program. * Assist in coordinating graduation for each semester. * Associate's degree in Health Education or related field, or equivalent experience.
* Two years of peer and/or health education experience in a clinic or community setting. * Prefer experience in reproductive health, youth development or related field. * BFOQ: Female Educator for Sisters Together Acting Responsibility Program. * Must be bilingual (English/Spanish).
