Our R&D - Metalwood Advanced Development team has an opening for a talented Mechanical Engineer to help develop technology for the next generation of TaylorMade Metalwood products. You'll work on a variety of projects that utilize and challenge your skills in CAD Modeling, Manufacturing, Materials and Testing to develop and integrate performance enhancing technology in our Metalwood product lines. This position will require a high level of proficiency in 3-D CAD modeling and engineering problem solving skills. It will also require the ability to work with cross functionial teams both within and outside the R&D team.
Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:
. Utilize Pro/Engineer (Pro/e, Wildfire)?to conduct a wide variety of complex design tasks in the creation/production of new designs, prototypes, and/or fixturing and tooling.
. Contribute to the development of new designs and/or processes at all stages, from concept creation, prototype evaluation to production tooling. Take sketches from industrial design and Advanced Research team to model in Pro/Engineer (Pro/e, Wildfire), conduct FEA (ABAQUS) investigations, and facilitate prototype creation and evaluation. Use highest level of CAD (Pro/Engineer, Wildfire, Pro/e) skill and problem solving to create a complete model and finished CAD drawings.
. Ensure that accurate and controlled documents/specifications are generated for new product designs and manufacturing processes. Transfer engineering drawings to outside vendors and necessary internal customers.
Education, Training, Professional Certification and Work Experience:
. 3 - 5 years hands-on Mechanical Engineering and CAD Design experience directly related to the essential duties and responsibilities described above. Experience with advanced CAD techniques (surfacing) a plus.
. Minimum education requirement: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering degree. Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering is a plus.
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
. Advanced skill & knowledge of CAD Design software and modeling. Work experience with Pro/Engineer (pro/e)/Wildfire or equivelant 3-D CAD Modeling software required (Unigraphics, CATIA, Solidworks, etc.). Advanced Surfacing knowledge preferred. Experience with FEA tools (i.e. ABAQUS) a plus, but not required.
. Knowledge of multiple manufacturing methods (e.g. casting, injection molding, machining, compression molding, forging, and coating/plating techniques) and materials (steel, titanium, aluminum alloys, composites) is preferred.
. Knowledge of various mechanical testing methods and equipment. Ability to set up and run various mechanical tests preferred.
. Ability to work on multiple engineering projects and have strong engineering problem solving skills. Must be team oriented and willing to work on a variety of engineering tasks.
. Strong communication skills: Must be fluent in English (written and oral), excellent interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization (e.g. marketing, sales, engineering, technicians, production, tour players).
. Knowledge of golf principles and associated terminology a plus, but not required.
This position is a temporary associate position and will be payrolled through a on-site staffing agency. No 1099/Independent Contractor or Staffing Agency Submittals will be considered for this position.
