Serving the lesbian, gay, bisexual & transgender community of San Diego County since 1973. Job Description: The Center’s Behavioral Health Services provide services to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) and HIV/AIDS communities. General services include crisis counseling, information, and referral; individual, couple and family counseling; psychosocial assessment, triage and treatment planning; and an intern and professional training program for the provision of LGBT and HIV/AIDS mental health services. The Licensed Staff Counselor position provides individual, couple, family and group counseling primarily to the HIV/AIDS and LGBT communities and offers a rare opportunity to join a talented and very hard-working team that is committed to improving the lives of the communities we serve. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated team-player who accepts direction, demonstrates excellent judgment, works hard, and is passionate about serving the LGBT and HIV communities. Qualifications:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability desired. Education and Experience: Successful completion of terminal graduate training program in a psychotherapy-related field: Ph.D./Psy.D., M.A., or M.S. in psychology; M.S.W.; M.F.C.C., etc., at an accredited university or college. A valid California psychotherapy license is required. 2. Computer/Office Equipment Skills: Must be familiar with Windows environment. Basic word processing skills, including working knowledge of MS Word, is required. 3. Other Special Skills: Strong organizational skills and strong writing skills are required. 4. Language Skills: Fluency in spoken and written English is required; fluency in Spanish is strongly preferred. Important Notes
