JOB SUMMARY:

Under general supervision performs deficiency analysis of inpatient, day surgery, or emergency department medical records and enters the data in the deficiency system. Performs incomplete record suspension process of all physicains within the RCHSD network. Performs the merging of duplicate medical records process. Performs other duties as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma, GED, or foreign equivalent education required

Thorough knowledge of office procedures and medical record processing

Previous experience using a computer is required

Ability to accurately file alphabetically, numerically and enter and edit data on a computer

Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of professionals and to learn and retain many changing regulations and rules

Two years experience in a medical record department or high volume medical setting required

Working knowledge of JCAHO standards, Medical Staff By-laws, and regulatory requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge of EPIC Systems, Chartmaxx and Meditech

Interaction with physicians and other medical personnel
