Job: Server - Part Time

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Server is responsible for table service within the community dining rooms.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES:

• Ability to effectively provide service to numerous tables in the busiest sections of the Avalon Dining Room.
• Takes orders, provides service and all requested items both graciously and courteously.
• Assists supervisory staff with new employee development and training.
• Answers pertinent questions about menu items.
• Set tables and maintain work stations are in proper order.
• Clears dishes from tables before, during, and after meal services.
• Help meet department standards by working with kitchen staff to ensure on the best quality of food is served to the residents.

• Experience waiting in a hotel, restaurant or retirement community a plus, but not required. We will give training.
• Ability to multi-task efficiently in a busy environment.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English and communicate effectively.
• Ability to interpret and explain menu, refer or answer questions, coordinate meal service process and understand requests.
• Ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisors and peers. Requires courtesy, tact and graciousness.
