Jobing Description
BILINGUAL therapist to act as Behavioral Health Consultant (BHC) with low-income population in a busy primary care clinic. The work involves providing brief interventions, in the primary care setting, to patients whose primary care providers have identified as having any of a wide variety of behavioral problems. The BHC would evaluate the patient and either provide treatment in the clinic or refer them to other agencies.
Skill in working with adults, children, and adolescents required. Also prefer skill and experience working in medical environments and familiarity with the BHC model espoused by Kirk Stosahl. Some group therapy experience and training preferred. Professional licensure or licensure within 6 months is required for this position. It is preferred that licensed applicants have one or more years’ experience supervising trainees. Candidates must have a master’s degree or higher in psychology, counseling, or social work, at least two years of clinical experience, and be bilingual/bicultural in Spanish.
