Accountable to the Lead Child Care Worker and Program Manager for the maintenance of the deaf group home level 12 facility and the provision of a safe, consistent and nurturing environment for youth in residence.
Summary of Duties 1. Supervise youth, meal preparation, house maintenance, and other in-house activities, as scheduled. 2. Coordinate recreational and academic enrichment activities and independent living skills. 3. Coordinate youth doctor appointments and other health-related needs. 4. Provide crisis intervention services, as necessary. 5. Transport service-partners to off-site appointments, court, etc. using own and agency vehicles. 6. Purchase food and other necessary supplies as indicated by Lead CCW. 7. Maintain warm, welcoming and clean office grounds and facilities. 8. Complete incident reports within specified timelines. 9. Document all services provided on communication log and in youth files. 10. Participate in all scheduled staff supervisions and meetings including treatment team. 11. Work within the context of a team environment and contribute positively to the culture of the team and the workplace. 12. Maintain working knowledge and comply with all CCL regulations as applicable to the position. 13. Maintain knowledge of Group Home and SDYS Programs Policy and Procedures. 14. Provide relief coverage of work shifts, as necessary. 15. Complete 40 hours of initial training the first year of employment and 20 hours of on-going training thereafter. 16. Maintain confidentiality and privacy standards of service partner protected health information and other applicable information and material in accordance to agency and center policies, and applicable regulations and laws including HIPAA. 17. Maintain a working knowledge of IT equipment Skills / Requirements
Associates degree and two years full-time work experience with adolescents in a residential setting or Bachelors degree and ability to work with youth. Must be fluent in American Sign-Language. Must have knowledge of and competency in the deaf culture. Demonstrated ability to work with youth-in-crisis and transition. Must be available for on call shifts, 24-hours a day, 7 days a week as needed with short notice. Must be able to pass clearance to work with minors (livescan clearance, clear TB Test, clean DMV record). Must be willing to use own properly insured transportation for work purposes with mileage reimbursement.
