Job: EMT (Emergency Medical Tech) Safety Officer

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The EMT Security Officer performs daily door monitoring checks and conducts scheduled internal and eternal rounds. He/she is responsible for responding immediately to all emergency situations at the community and is required to demonstrate the acts and principles of exemplary customer service to all internal and external customers at all times.

This is a part time/on call position.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES:

• The EMT Safety Officer is responsible for responding immediately to all emergency situations at the community. Practices proper First Responder protocols and life safety policies and procedures. Assists the Safety Manager with random mock testing and training of staff to ensure emergency preparedness. The EMT Safety Officer is the highest trained medical response officer within the Safety Department.
• He/She assists the Safety Manager or designated management representative with daily door monitoring checks, conducts scheduled internal and external rounds, maintains departmental emergency equipment and supplies to ensure proper functioning, ensures compliance with policies & procedures and reports all discrepancies and unsafe conditions to the Safety Manager.
• The EMT Safety Officer is required to demonstrate the acts and principles of exemplary customer service to all internal and external customers at all times. Responding to and documenting customer complaints in a professional manner.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

Light to moderate physical effort 90% of the time; may be exposed to the elements (heat, cold, rain); ability to lift 50 pounds; ability to walk 90% of the work day; ability to stoop and stretch occasionally; may be exposed to the HBV and HIV viruses.

• Current First Aid, CPR, AED, and EMT certification
• At least one year of EMT experience
• Previous employment within the security and/or medical response environment
• Eighteen years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to speak, read, write and understand English
