Schedule: Full time - Benefits Eligible Shift: Days Hours: JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the analytical, technical and educational development, implementation, support and maintenance of CHHC Decision Support databases, systems and file structures. Will provide information for Financial Analysis, Marketing, Managed Care, Outcomes and all other clinical and support services across the continuum of care and Integrated Delivery System. The DSS Analyst will manage the integration of external data, e.g. OSHPD, NACHRI, PHIS, and serve as a resource in identifying other external, comparative databases which could facilitate identification of areas requiring further study. Serve as a resource to department managers, and senior management in order to facilitate their use of DSS through customized education, support and feedback. The DSS Analyst will contribute to the enhancement of data quality through analysis and feedback. The DSS Analyst will program and enhance sandard report packages based on customer feedback, provide ongoing training to all end-users, and will be fully trained in all applications of HBO/TrendStar. Other responsibilities include continued maintenance of the Decision Support System, development of department cost standards, support to case mix analysis and support to the annual budget process. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in Hospital, Health, or Business Administration from an accredited graduate program and two years related experience in healthcare OR Bachelor's degree in Hospital, Health, or Business Administration and three years related experience in healthcare. Ability to perform complex analysis using modeling, forecasting and statistical analysis methodologies. Knowledge of effective organizational and management principles. Knowledge of fundamentals of hospital organization and processes and, management techniques. Basic hospital accounting required. Ability to prepare complex written and graphic reports and provide oral presentations, as necessary. Ability to work effectively in a multi-faceted, time-critical work environment. Strong oral and written communication skills. Proficiency and experience with data processing and computer applications (including Excel and Word).
