History

Yellow Cab of San Diego provides a full spectrum of transportation services in the San Diego County Area. In continuous operation for over 80 years, Yellow Cab of San Diego currently operates a variety of transportation services in addition to its core taxicab business. These transportation services include the transportation of blood for the San Diego Blood Bank, transportation of special needs children for the San Diego and Cajon Valley Unified School Districts, Guaranteed Ride-Home Program for San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG), and supplemental transportation services for the San Diego Regional Center. Yellow Cab Company of San Diego is a closely held, California corporation with corporate and operating offices located at 3473 Kurtz Street in San Diego.

Today, Yellow Cab of San Diego operates more than 310 vehicles throughout San Diego County. These services are provided using state-of-the-art computerized dispatch and communications systems to ensure consistently efficient transportation. Yellow Cab of San Diego became the first, and is still the only taxicab company in San Diego to use a fully computerized dispatch system. Each of Yellow Cab's vehicles is equipped with a mobile data terminal, a two-way radio, and a credit card swipe. More importantly, the dedicated efforts of Yellow Cab employees and more than 650 self employed drivers/owner drivers contribute to the success of the operations. 

The Yellow Cab of San Diego operations are quite extensive. In the past year, the company provided nearly 1.5 million trips, which involved answering more than 5,000 trip requests per day, and resulted in the operation of approximately 26 million miles. Yellow Cab of San Diego provides transportation services throughout the County on a 24-hour per day, 7-day per week, 365-day per year basis.
