Jobing Description
This position reports to the Manufacturing Production Technician Manager and is responsible for repairs associated with moderate to complex instrumentation. The incumbent will interface with the Customer Support, Production, Stockroom and Engineering departments. The incumbent is primarily responsible for troubleshooting, resolving, repairing and reporting instrumentation issues.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Requires an Associates degree or equivalent technical work experience and/or military technical training. Industry knowledge a plus.
Must have experience utilizing the following equipment: DVM, oscilloscopes, recorders, and hand tools such as soldering irons, hand crimpers, screwdrivers, wrenches, and pliers.
Must possess strong problem solving skills, digital and analog skills, and the ability to troubleshoot logically.
Must possess strong and professional communication skills both verbally and in writing.
Must be able to exercise sound judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
Skills / Requirements
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Perform troubleshooting and resolving problems in complex instrumentation, encompassing electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, and chemical components, to include software controlled analog and digital surface mount circuit boards, and CPU?s.
Perform component testing, troubleshooting, and repairing of power supplies and circuit boards.
Responsible for maintenance and repairs of text fixtures.
Generate failure analysis and report such analysis to management.
Perform other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical requirements for this position vary and include occasional lifting of 40 to 60 lbs.
1) Component level troubleshooting a must. Very small components.
2) Surface mount experience, digital and analog; mostly digital
3) Experience with troubleshooting boards
4) Must be able to read schematics
Test on Op Amps; Multiflexers, parallel circuits
5) Must be able to follow procedure
