Jobing Description

The position responsibilities include managing and leading teams to design and enhance instrumentation products containing electronic, software, electromechanical and pneumatic components. Successful candidate will define product requirements, design and implement electronic and pneumatic sub-systems and embedded software components on a variety of products, lead design reviews, create technical documentation, provide technical support to other departments, and interface with customers. This is a key, highly visible position on the engineering leadership team.
* Perform as lead engineer for the planning, implementation, testing, release and maintenance of instruments containing electronic, software, electromechanical and pneumatic components over the full product lifecycle.
* Design, develop, test, document, release and maintain electronic designs involving digital and analog components, power devices, sensors, and actuators.
* Design, develop, test, document, release and maintain embedded software.
* Develop and review design documents, test reports, and test procedures.
* Perform design activities as required in support of other Product Engineers.
* Mentor Junior Engineers and Interns.
* Provide technical interface and communications with Engineering, Marketing, Customer Support, Operations and other customers as required.
* Regularly report status on assigned tasks.

Skills / Requirements

* Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering
* Minimum 5 years related industrial work experience in instrument design and development
* Minimum 2 years project management/supervisory experience
* Strong understanding of electronic components, circuits and systems.
* Working knowledge of real-time operating systems in embedded designs
* Working knowledge of electromechanical components
* Must possess strong analytical and problem solving skills to make sound technical decisions.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work within and across project teams.
* Effective written and verbal communications.
* Must have experience with MS Word, MS Project, Excel, Outlook and other office productivity software.
Preferred:
* Knowledge of analytical techniques utilized in gas analysis
* Knowledge of EMC and Safety certifications and testing methods
