 Supervises the stewarding staff to ensure that the highest level of professionalism and gracious service is offered to our guests. Assists stewarding personnel in adhering to the hotel's standards of cleanliness and quality. Manages the employee's overall training, including Department orientation, Departmental Trainer Program, initial training, safety training, and assists in managing and coaching the Quality Trainers.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Projects professionalism and courtesy to our guests and associates.
  2. Serves as a leader for employees while fostering teamwork, high employee morale, motivation and open communication.
  3. Ensures the kitchens and their related equipment and areas are maintained at the highest possible level of cleanliness and sanitation as prescribed by the Health Department as well as the hotel standards.
  4. Coaches and directs employees to achieve department goals.
  5. Performs regular inspections of Food & Beverage back-of the-house for cleanliness.
  6. Assigns and supervises stewarding staff duty.
  7. Maintains all stewarding storerooms.
  8. Ensures the kitchens and their related equipment and areas are maintained at the highest possible level of cleanliness and sanitation as prescribed by the Health Department as well as the hotel standards.
  9. Assists in the department's training programs to ensure departmental standards are consistently met or exceeded.
  10. Instructs all stewarding personnel in established safety and emergency procedures.
  11. Liaises with other operating departments to guarantee quality of services rendered.
  12. Requisitions and controls cleaning supplies.
  13. Assists in the inventories of chinaware, glassware, flatware, hollowware and ensures proper techniques are used in the distribution and storage so as to minimize breakage and/or damage, including Evans Garage.
  14. Liaises with kitchen and ensures proper techniques are used in the distribution of prepared food for events, including transportation of food and equipment to Evans Garage.
  15. Ensures a safe working environment by training and following set safety standards.
  16. Undertakes other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
  17. Regular and predictable attendance for scheduled shifts.
