Job Summary


The County of San Diego, Health and Human Services Agency is currently accepting applications for


Public Health Services (PHS) has an immediate opening for a Senior Communicable Disease Investigator in the Epidemiology Branch. The incumbent will be responsible for conducting complex communicable disease investigations; providing mentoring to less experienced investigators; and providing assistance to the program manager. The list established from this recruitment may be used to fill vacancies in other PHS areas.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. A bachelor's degree from an accredited U.S. college or university in a behavioral, social, natural science, or a closely related field; AND, two (2) years of specialized investigative experience in the enforcement of communicable disease laws, rules and regulations; OR,
  2. One (1) year of work experience as a Communicable Disease Investigator in the County of San Diego; OR,
  3. Six (6) years of work experience in communicable disease investigations.
