Job Description
Resource specialists are members of the Health
Management team. The Resource Specialist
participates in resource identification to promote the
well-being of program participants. They function in
collaboration with all members of the healthcare team
to identify community and government resources to
meet a member's need.
As a Specialist Resource you will:
-Demonstrate expertise and current knowledge of
resource identification relevant to the member.
-Use information gathering skills to assist with
identifying available resources the member is eligible
to receive.
-Evaluate/provide information regarding the utilization
of community resources available for members and
their families.
-Identify funding sources, utilizing national
foundations as a member resource when available.
-Document resources appropriately in member’s
electronic medical record and provide written and oral
updates to team members.
-Provide a link between the member, providers,
payers and the community.
-Perform other duties and special projects as

Required Qualifications
- 2 years of prior related work experience in Social
- Must be located in North Carolina

Preferred Qualifications
-Other Certificates or Licenses
- Masters/Doctorate
- Degree in a health care related field preferred
- BSW/MSW preferred
- 2 years experience in a community agency
- Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships.
- Effective written and verbal communication.
- Ability to adapt to change, plan, organize and
evaluate effectively.
- Moderate level of computer skills.
