Position Title Junior Software Developer
Position Summary:

We are looking for a Junior Software Developer to build a system for automated processing of complex image data based on deep and machine learning concepts for automation of data analysis workflows. This work primarily entails assisting in image preparation and prototype development for automated image segmentation and classification systems. This Developer will work directly with the Principal Investigator and Bioinformatics Analyst to design and develop this project and will work alongside groups of scientists to test and validate results. This opportunity will provide experience in cryo-EM image data processing, data treatment for large data sets, and image processing Artificial Intelligence. The workflows developed by this position will ultimately contribute to state-of-the-art methods in iterative vaccine design for HIV and influenza.

The ideal candidate is familiar with the concepts used in machine learning and is looking for a flexible opportunity to sharpen those skills.

* Assist all steps of development of automated image processing pipelines including data preparation, data labelling, system prototyping, and analysis of results.
* Assist in the deployment of designed systems via appropriate means (web, scripts, or otherwise)
* Assist in the upkeep and optimization of data workflows and databases used by the group by working collaboratively with scientific project teams to successfully implement users’ needs in database searching and integration.
* Perform other related duties as required or assigned.

Additional Information:
Our group at TSRI lab uses Electron Microscopy (EM) and cutting edge biophysical techniques to investigate the intersection between viral pathogens and the immune system to design new vaccines. The Junior Software Developer would also work closely with the group’s Bioinformatics Analyst to adapt and update existing data processing workflows.

Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science (or a related field), or relevant training experience.
* 1 or more years of experience working with image processing systems or on image processing problems.
* Experience with Linux and bash or equivalent shell required.
* Experience with python or Matlab required.
* Experience with machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, Matlab, Caffe, etc) required.
* Familiarity with the concepts used in machine learning preferred
