Client Advocate - Men's Center
at San Diego Rescue Mission
To serve as a resourceful advocate in supporting our clients toward achieving program success while employing a trauma-informed approach to care to maintain client case notes, and other documentation as needed. Provide spiritual leadership and guidance for SDRM clients. Represent our Mission, Vision, and Values and continue and continue to grow as a follower of Christ.
The Client Advocate serves the Mission as a whole, as a member of their specific program team, and reports to their Program Director. This position is a non-exempt position that provides support, advocacy, leadership, resourcing, documentation, and encouragement in partnering with clients toward successful program completion or transition.
This position is a full-time 40 hours per week, benefit package offered paid medical premiums dental, vision, life, disability and 403(B) retirement savings plan offered
Skill / Requirements
Education: Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Ministry or related field from an accredited institution.
Experience: 2 years full-time work experience with those experiencing homelessness, facing various addiction challenges, mental illness and/or dual diagnosis is preferred
Skills and Abilities: Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook); typing (min 35 wpm); coordinate and/or direct a variety of complex tasks and assignments simultaneously and successfully; exercise good judgment and make sensible decisions; attentive to detail; prioritize effectively; effective oral and written communication skills; eagerness to learn and be trained; work both independently and as part of a team; provide information to public by answering questions and requests; regular, timely attendance.
