Job Description
The file clerk oversees all records for the service department and then, codes, files and retrieves them accordingly. Light clerical duties may also be required.
Responsibilities:
*Manages all databases and records, creates new entries as needed and answers questions about the company database, files and records.
*Implements new filing systems as directed.
*Reads incoming material, verifies accuracy, and sorts and codes according to system.
*Stores material in paper form, or enters information into computerized storage system.
*Retrieves materials for qualified personnel upon request.
*Searches for and investigates information contained in files, inserts additional data on file records, completes reports, and keeps files current.
*Keeps track of borrowed materials and ensures they are returned.
*Disposes of obsolete files in accordance with established retirement schedule or legal requirements.
*Scans materials or copies records, and examines materials for legibility.
*Prepares labels and/or reports.
*Basic office duties as required to include: faxing, photocopying and filing.
Qualifications:
*Must be able to lift and re-position 20lbs on a continuous basis.
*Must be outgoing and able to work in a fast paced environment.
