Northrop Grumman AerospaceSystems has an opening for an Embedded Software Engineer 4 to join our team ofqualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in San Diego, CA.
Candidates will work on softwaresupporting various space, aircraft, and ground systems in all phases of thesoftware development lifecycle including design, development and test.Candidates will work on software systems primarily in C/C development, with afocus toward embedded design.
Develop new software modules supporting cuttingedge technology.
Ensure software quality through unit testing.
Support software integration and system testing.
Assist in system design and troubleshooting.
Identify and implement software bug fixes.
Update and maintain software documentation.
The selected candidate shouldthrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantlydiverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels. Candidatemust be comfortable in both development and lab environments, and be able tocollaborate closely with system engineers, hardware designers, andintegration/test engineers. They should have experience with the C programming language and object oriented programming. This position isfor a software developer with a primary focus on embedded design.
Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 9 years of engineering experience, or Master's Degree in STEM and 7 years of engineering experience, or a PhD and 4 years of engineering experience.
Experience developing software C or C and experience in object oriented programming as well as a working knowledge of embedded software design methods.
Must have experience with formal software life cycle development methodologies,agile development methodologies, and requirements through test.
An active in-scope DoD Top Secret clearance and the ability to obtain program access.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering.
Experience developing with the VxWorks Real Time Operating System.
Excellent 2-way communication skills (upward and downward).
Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management.
Availability to support occasional travel.
