The BSA Analyst will assist the BSA Department with the BSA/AML related monitoring of the Bank’s customers and their transactions via report review, enhanced due diligence review, and data mining using a designated BSA software program, the Bank’s core system and other computer applications.

 RESPONSIBILITIES:     

  • This position would be assigned one or more of the following responsibilities based on the needs of the department:
    • Perform entry of Customer Due Diligence (CDD) data and prepare reports for gap analysis review of anticipated vs actual activity.
    • Complete EDD (Enhanced Due Diligence) reviews of the bank’s high risk customers. Perform research, analysis and investigation of the entire customer relationship documenting results for the review.
    • Review Alerts (triage), Case Reviews (SAR or No SAR Decision Making). Daily monitoring and analysis of various reports and transaction data to identify trends, unusual or suspicious activity, and/or significant changes in account activity.
    • Perform research and negative news searches through the bank’s core software, online open source searches, and subscription based data based resources when reviewing a customer’s account activity
    • Perform monthly/quarterly certifications
    • Review and maintain various BSA reports for accuracy, monitor and refer suspicious activities to the proper BSA unit for further investigation
  • Maintain well organized electronic records (including Excel spreadsheets) and written reports of completed reviews
  • Provide coverage during periods of employee absence
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Some college education preferred
  • Minimum of two – three years experience in banking operations or at least one or more years in a BSA environment
  • Strong written and critical thinking skills
  • Strong knowledge of CIP regulations and the Bank’s written CIP Policy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel.
  • The ability to read, write and communicate well in English
