Job Description

Responsible for the oversight and leadership of the activities and functions of a department. Participates in department strategic planning and contributes to it’s success through effectively communicating goals and expectations to staff. Ensures effective use of system resources. Provides functional expertise essential to staff and leadership. Ensures expenses do not exceed budget. Participates in standards of practice and process improvement activities. Oversees staffing matrices and possesses authority to hire, conduct performance evaluations, and discipline employees. Ensures policy and procedures are followed by staff.

Basic Qualifications (Required): Current California RN license.

Minimum Qualifications (Required): Mininum two (2) years applicable clinical experience, two (2) of which in a leadership role. Requires excellent skills in communication, problem-solving, team development, planning and follow-through. Ability to exercise the authority and responsibility for assigned services based on the scope of the organization and complexity of patient care. Knowledge of basic budgeting/financial process, FTE control, inventory. BLS for Health Care Provider from the American Heart Association required by start date.

Preferred Qualifications: BSN preferred. Certification in area of specialty preferred if applicable.
