Job Description

Responsible for the oversight and leadership of the activities and functions of a department.  Participates in department strategic planning and contributes to its success through effectively communicating goals and expectations to staff.  Ensures effective use of system resources. Provides functional expertise essential to staff and leadership.  Ensures expenses do not exceed budget.  Participates in standards of practice and process improvement activities.  Oversees staffing matrices and possesses authority to hire, conduct performance evaluations, and discipline employees.  Ensures policy and procedures are followed by staff.

Basic Qualification: Bachelor’s degree

Minimum Qualifications:  Three (3) or more years of fund-raising or related volunteer and professional experience.  Knowledge of and experience in several aspects of philanthropic fund development, specifically membership, special gift level giving and prospect development.  Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with varied constituencies, including volunteers, physicians, patients and donors.  Excellent writing and verbal skills, including ability to make presentations.  Computer proficiency, including expertise in Word and Excel.  Creative, self-starting, results-oriented and committed to working as part of a team enterprise.  Ability to organize time effectively and manage a large number of tasks simultaneously.  Strong sense of ethical conduct
